Environmental Management System

Canning Industry

Venus wishing to project its concern on the environmental demands of times, moved towards the development of an Environmental Management System (based on the ISO 14001 1996 standard and certified by DQS) that constantly controls and monitors its activities.

The E.M.S. covers every aspect of the production line and sets the basis for further reducing undesirable side effects.

The company is committed to materialize environmental programs that have as their main axis:

Activities to be in complete accordance to the present legislations.
The efficient management of natural resources, such as energy and raw materials, in order to cover the production needs.
The induction of programs aiming at the prevention of potential environmental accidents.
To inform and train the personnel to participate in the company’s environmental policy.

Raw Fruit Production

Venus Growers as a cooperative is constituted of about 600 members that cultivate raw fruits for both fresh – fruit market and industry. This production is in complete accordance with the demands and specifications of the Integrated Crop Management System, which is based on the AGRO 2-1, AGRO 2-2 standards (similar to Eurepgap standards) certified by the Hellenic ministry of agriculture.

Beyond the coverage of legal obligations and peach production specifications Venus Growers are positively suggesting:

Constant development of fruit quality to meet both present and upcoming market demands, promoting in this way the goal for top quality processed fruits.
